FULL COVERAGE MAKEUP

This is what I personally do every day. Because full coverage foundation everywhere covers but ages me. I feel pretty when I put it on in the bathroom but when I look at it in the car mirror, it makes my creases look deeper and my pores bigger. On the other hand, if I just wear regular foundation, my chin and my nose still are red, my sun spots are still glaring and any blemishes I might have aren’t covered. So here’s the beautiful compromise that I made. First I apply my favorite tinted moisturizer all over my face and neck to even out my skin tone enough and give me a glowing radiance.¬†Then I pump a tiny bit of my favorite full coverage foundation and apply it only to the areas that I want more coverage. These areas are nowhere near my smile lines or creases so I don’t have to worry about it settling into them and making them bigger. Then I do a quick powder and a quick spritz of my favorite setting spray and go!

TIGHTEN UP

Do you remember my tutorial inspired by Kate Moss plunging her face in a sink full of ice water (revisit it here)? Well… this is a little less drastic! But still effective! Because skin will always contract and tighten when it’s cold. So try this on mornings when you need a little extra help and watch how much more awake and rested you’ll look.

If you don’t want powder to make your makeup look cakey, you have to try this! It sets the makeup but really keeps the powder from getting cakey. Just try it once and you’ll be hooked!

If I could come hang with each one of you and pass down words of wisdom to keep your skin young as long as possible, it would be to make eye cream a twice a day habit. Then apply it with these four tips in mind.

MY FAVORITE EYE CREAMS:

  • $$$ — I always use Awakening Eye Cream on my clients because it instantly makes the skin around the eyes look more rested.
  • $$ — I personally use this Magic Eye Cream because I feel like I need a really heavy one now!
  • $ — I love this Hyaluronic Eye Cream because it replenishes the Hyaluronic Acid that we lose as we get older.

TOP FOUR TIPS:

  1. Use your ring finger (your least strong digit) to dot it along the eye socket. Not closer than that because it will travel up inside your eyes and irritate them (making puffy bags).
  2. Now tap it in like your playing the piano to increase circulation and blood flow while you’re stippling it in.
  3. Then tap the excess along the perimeter of your upper lip as that’s an area that needs extra TLC.
  4. And swirl the remainder on the back of your hand.
