A METALLIC EYE

We love simple + quick ways to turn up the wow factor, and switching to a metallic shadow does just that in an instant. In our latest exclusive video tutorial we’ll show you just how easy it is to recreate this very chic look from many-a-runway.

1. After evening out your skin tone with foundation, fill in your brows with light quick strokes mimicking individual hairs. True used Dior Brow Styler in Universal Brown, our favorite because of its super-fine point.

2. With your finger, swirl a longwear shimmer shadow on the center of your lid, where you really want the pop. True used Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense Eye Shadow in Pulp Fiction.

3. Dab an eyeshadow brush in a metallic shadow and tap off any excess on the back of your hand. True used a discontinued favorite palette of mine from Stila (sorry!!) but try Stila Jewel Eye Shadow Trio as it’s almost identical and actually better refined. Sweep the color on the remaining areas of your lid, crease + bottom lashline.

4. With a light shimmer shadow, fill in the inner corner, above the crease + along the brow bone.

5. Rim the upper and bottom lashlines with a black longwear liner. True used NARS Soft Touch Pencil in Aigle Noir.

6. Coat the lashes with a volumizing mascara (Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara).

7. Swirl a peachy gold shimmer blush on the apples of your cheeks. True used my favorite Kabuki Blush Brush, the NARS Yachiyo (once you try it, you’ll never go back to your old blush brush) and  NARS Blush in Luster, one of my mainstays on the red carpet for years now.

8. Finish with a metallic peach lipstick. True used Dolce & Gabbana Shine Lipstick in #53 Delicate.

Two-toned eye shadow is still very on trend {revisit it here in our Color Blocking story!}, but let’s try a different take on it and stylize our eyes in Spring pastels! You don’t even have to limit yourself to two shades. Because your nails + fashion shouldn’t have all the fun!

I had so much fun trying multi-colored tips this summer.  I had always wanted to try something a little crazy with my hair and, with the help of your votes, decided to go for it!  While my fun do was short lived (I only kept the color for a week before returning to my blonde locks), I was happy to cross it off my list of to-dos. So it seemed that my days of dying my hair unnatural shades were through… but I was wrong!  I have been bitten my the color bug once again! I first saw these orange streaks on the runway and thought they would be so pretty toned down a bit.  But my original color inspiration comes from this fashionista.  This look is a bit more tame than my first time around, but I thought I better play it safe and get the opinion of you beauty connoisseurs before I pull the trigger.   So what do you guys think?  Should I try out these pretty peach tips or should I just stick to my traditional blonde?
