Travel Beauty Bags

post/graphic design by norah curlee

Hey hey jet setters! We know all you lovelies have vacays and road trips planned for the summer…and you’ll need to haul your beauty gear, obviously. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of our favorite practical (and adorable) packers that will transport your beauty bits from point A to point B. Having travel bags like this on hand can help you stay organized and even safeguard your treasures from busting/breaking during a bumpy journey through airports and trunks. We’d classify this category as a MUST HAVE. Here are some of our favorites…

1. Can you guess what we’d use this cute case for? #lippies

2. These hanging bags make things super accesible while hooked on the back of a hotel door. Also, mint green lining. <3

3. So many possibilities in store for this little red pouch.

4. This cylinder pouch is genius for taking along makeup brushes, eye pencils etc.

5. This bag had us at STRIPES.

6. Weekender bags like this one are perfect for consolidating all of your must haves into one place.

7. A two-for-one! Lot’s of bags and pouches for products with this option.

8. A classic summery little zip bag. Perfect.

9. Bzzzzzzzz.

10. The whole kit and caboodle! This one has an insert for nail polishes and room for all your mani essentials. YES.

11. A cute trio!

12. We love options and this style comes in lots of colors!

13. Another great one for hauling nail stuff!

14. Pastels and polka dots, and small enough to throw in your hand bag!

Packing is more like a chore and isn’t super exciting, but if you have fun and functional bags/cases it can make the whole process that much better. We will take any help in the organizational department that we can get! What do you guys pack your beauty gear in for trips? Any favorites? Let us know in the comments!

CURRENT FAVORITE PINS

We all know floating around Pinterest is the best/worst time warp ever. We’re totally guilty and we like it. Sometimes it’s just great to sit down and get inspired by the handywork of others. We can’t always find the original source of an image, but they sure do provide major inspiration on our office mood boards. We thought we’d share some of our current favorites…

Love doing these with gels because they typically last a couple weeks and you’re able to wear them for both Christmas AND New Years Eve parties.

We need a tutorial on this updo, stat!

Such a stellar headband by the one and only Jennifer Behr. Better pick up the new Cosmo mag!

This girls curls are everythingggggggg.

Kinda looks like these were made with a marker. Regardless, real cute!

We’ll have what she’s having– as in the most perfectly messy waves we’ve ever seen.

We  might be swapping out our black liner for a little metallic around the holidays!

So into a floppy velvet bow. Makes a messy fall pony so much more interesting.

We always love a flower crown but something about this one is extra special… soo dainty + delicate. Perfect for a chignon like this.

Oh, the cute things you can do with bobby pins…

Fall is here. Bust out those hats, pretty ladies.

That clip tho…

We are so lucky to have inspiration at our fingertips (no pun intended). All we have to do is search a couple keywords on a social media platform like instagram or pinterest and endless ideas will start to flow. (more…)

NAILED IT!

As you may have noticed, I’m slightly obsessed with doing fun things on my nails these days. Holidays are always a great excuse to get creative. Here’s my Independence Day inspired manicure. I used the stick-on nail polish in blue + white nautical stripes and added one simple solid red nail to each hand.

1: Tools- clear base/top coat, red nail polish, stick-on nail polish strips, nail file, cuticle nippers (optional)

2: Apply a thin base coat, and then fit the correct nail polish strips to each finger. Skip any random one you want and leave it for the red polish. I chose the ring finger.

3: (Optional) Cut the excess off with cuticle nippers or scissors.

4: File the edges. This will give you a perfect edge with the nail polish strip.

5. Paint the plain nail red. I did 2 coats.

6. Go over everything (polish strips + red nail) with a clear top coat.

I hope you all have a great 4th of July. Be safe. Can’t wait to see your photos!

XO Lauren
