Every November I start sifting through all of the holiday gift sets. Obviously, it’s one of my most favorite pastimes! Then I narrow it down to the best of the best and start my holiday shopping. Naturally as I’m curating, I always find a couple of gems that find a home in my vanity no matter how hard I try to gift them!! Anyway, let me be your Santa’s helper and share my favorites:

FOR YOUR SISTER: Not sure if Charlotte knew these were my three favorite shades, but I squealed when I got my hands on (1) this mini set of lipsticks in Penelope Pink, Bitch Perfect and So Marilyn, and so will your sister! She’ll also love (2) this gorgeous set of ten mini polishes and its adorable presentation if she’s especially girlie.

FOR YOUR BESTIE: She will love (1) this Tarteist contour palette because it literally is a paint-by-numbers slenderizing genius and has shades for all skin tones. She will also die for (2) this scrumptious, high pigment, high gloss set in the prettiest shades ever.

FOR YOUR MOTHER: If your mom is anything like my mom, she is a fanatic about hand cream. So I know she will love (1) this limited set of 5 greatest hits that she can keep all over the house, in the car and in her handbag! Also, your mom probably doesn’t know about (2) this magic in a bottle and will forever thank you for introducing her to it. You can get the smaller one and she can buy the bigger one for herself when she becomes a convert. It keeps her skin ultra-hydrated and she’ll get complimented all day long that she’s glowing. Just be prepared to want to borrow it constantly!

FOR YOURSELF: It’s hard to believe that Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb came on the scene ten years ago and the best way to celebrate is with (1) this truly-special piece-of-art limited edition bottle. It makes your bathroom so feminine and smells divine. And (2) this Parisian-inspired limited edition palette is just too hard to not keep for yourself! It has 18 of my favorite eye shadows, Better Than Sex mascara, my favorite eye shadow primer, a pretty pink longwear liquified lipstick, two bronzers, a blush and a highlighter for a ridiculously-low price.

So now that you know mine, what are yours? Please share any gift sets or limited edition palettes or cult favorites in the comments below!

There are many products sold as “mixing mediums” to help apply and set glitter on your eyelids. But this trick is what I’ve always found to last the longest AND be good for your skin. Because it’s using an eye cream! Just follow the steps above if you’re doing a single wash of color on bare skin or if you’re applying it on top of eye shadow that’s already on your eyes, lose the cotton swab, dip your finger lightly in the eye cream, dab it a couple times on the back of your hand to thin it out, then press your finger into the glitter to load it up then press your finger wherever you want to place the glitter.

HOLIDAY SPARKLE

I know that most of you will step it up at holiday parties this year by rocking a red lip! But today I’m tempting you to take it a step further and pair it with a simple sparkle eye. Nothing Vegas Showgirl or anything distracting. Just one glitter liquid liner and four ways to rock it. Here’s how:

TOOLS:

TBDGlitter1InnerTwinkle

INNER TWINKLE

  1. Look up and start in the inner corner. Trace the liquid liner about 1/3 of the distance across the lower lash line. You can decide how thick or thin you want it. I always end up making it a tad too thick but always notice right away and in time to swipe away the unwanted width with a q-tip (or my finger) before it dries.
  2. Follow with a couple coats of mascara.

TBDGlitter2GoldLine

THE GOLD LINE

  1. One of my very special clients did this on her own for her baby shower this year and everyone loved it! Simply start at the inner corner of your upper lashline and trace the liner across to the outer corner.
  2. Go back over it to add another coat of glitter. If that’s enough for you, stop there, or you can do a third coat on top to add even more glitter, which is what I did on Neelo here.
  3. Finish with a couple coats of mascara.

TBDGlitter3LidSparkle

LID SPARKLE

  1. Here you are just adding lines above the gold line that you drew in The Gold Line until you’ve filled in the entire lid. Stop before the crease so it doesn’t crease.
  2. Go back over the lid a couple more times until you’ve reached the amount of desired glitter.
  3. Finish with a couple coats of mascara.

TBDGlitter4Ombre2

OMBRE

  1. This time, do the steps from The Gold Line, but instead of filling in the entire lid like we did in Lid Sparkle, this time only draw the Gold Line.
  2. Before it dries, aka immediately, place your finger over the line and gently smear the glitter upward.
  3. Pick your finger up and press it repeatedly all over your lid.
  4. With the remaining few specks of glitter left on your finger, press it along the crease.
  5. Go back and draw a line at the upper lash line again to make sure that’s the most intense area.
