There aren’t enough bows in this world if you ask me and thanks to these little gems being a girly-girl just got a whole lot easier! Remember the top photo from when Lauren wore her hair in a bow on Jimmy Kimmel? It was a really fun hair style to create, but it takes a long time to get the hair formed into a perfect bow shape, especially if you have thick hair like she does. Many of you asked if there was a quick way to get the look. Well, wish granted! These bows were made to clip right in. You can put your hair half up, in a ponytail or in a bun and finalize the look with a hair bow in your color. I think these are pretty amazing… and may or may not have just ordered one of each color for my kit.

This may seem like a simple task to some of you, but I find that a lot of people struggle with hiding a bobby pin. The best way to conceal your weapon is to slide the pin back up into the hair in the opposite direction that the hair is going (see image example). By doing this, you create the strongest support while hiding your bobby pin at the same time. This is how every section was pinned in our “Twisted Sister” updo tutorial. As wedding/prom season quickly approaches this trick should come in very handy.
In this beautiful world of buns + top knots, we’re always searching for ways to mix it up. Today’s DIY helps us do just that! Making hair jewelry can be really fun & it’s very likely that you’ll have most of these supplies already at home! You can take apart an inexpensive multi-strand chain necklace that you don’t wear anymore, or if you don’t have that you can go to a bead shop where they sell chain and necklace making supplies. Here’s how I created this golden goodness:

TOOLS: Wire cutters, flat-head pliers, thin gold wire, strands of necklace chain, a brass loop, a small hair comb + a bobby pin that matches your hair color. (FYI, all of the metal used here can be found at a bead store if you don’t have a necklace to take apart at home!)
