SUGAR SHADES OF SUMMER

At the beginning of this Summer we had loads of fun with matte pastels (revisit the tutorial here)! But now that the dog days of Summer are here, with humidity and heat scoring off the charts, matte shadows and glistening skin work against each other and don’t do you any favors. Luckily the solution is simple! Switch over to sugar shades! These are shimmery frosted shades of pink, white, taupe and silver and will get you through the final Summer months. There are all kinds of variations on how to apply them; you can do a single wash of color, or try this Pink Cut Crease paired with a Cat Eye! It’s also nice because you can’t really see the cut crease when the eyes are open but when you blink or look down, it’s a gorgeous sweet surprise! Here’s how:  (more…)

THAT’S A WRAP!

It’s Sunday funday and you’re hopefully not headed to school or the office, so why not try something different to tie off your dutch/french/fishtail braid for the rest of the weekend? This little wrap detail is something I’ve been doing to my clients for a little while just to make things look a little more interesting than normal so thought it would be fun to share. The great news is you only need one tool! A thin ponytail holder. QUICK TIP: CONTOURING

We’re getting really technical today, ladies! I know a lot of you still don’t feel like it’s worth taking the extra step to contour. Or you are intimidated by all of the overly-exaggerated contouring photos floating around Pinterest and Instagram! But I can’t stress enough 1. how important it is and 2. how easy it is! Foundation makes a blank canvas. That can actually make your face photograph heavier than it is! You have to go back and add dimension back in. And you do it quickly and easily with cream foundation one shade darker or bronzer. Revisit my Contouring 101 Tutorial to fully understand the technique. Now for the biggest tip I can give you!!
