WHAT A DOLL

A few days ago we posted THIS sweet viddy of the beauty party we threw our favorite littles! So last but not least, we wanted to give you something you can print if you’re planning one throwing one, too. Above you’ll find 3 fun hairstyles and below you’ll find tutorials with instructions below each set of images. We used Barbie® Color Chalk Hair Doll in all 3 of these…

  1. Brush out any tangles in your doll’s hair.
  2. Use the chalk as instructed to color each section. We did a blue section, a pink section and then mixed blue and pink to make a purple section.
  3. Do a regular 3-strand braid on your doll. Tie it off with the small clear elastics that come in the box.

  1. Brush out any tangles in your doll’s hair.
  2. Put the hair in a high ponytail using the small elastic ponytail holders that come in the box.
  3. Chalk the ends of the doll’s hair. We alternated and mixed the colors.
  4. Take a strand of hair and wrap it around the elastic ponytail holder.
  5. Clip it underneath using the various shaped plastic hair clips that come in the box. Here we used the star shape one.

  1. Brush out any tangles in your doll’s hair.
  2. Take one strand from the doll’s right side and use the pink chalk to color it.
  3. Take one strand from the doll’s left side and use the blue chalk to color it.
  4. Join the pieces together in the back of your doll’s head. Tie it off with one of the small elastics that come in the box.
  5. Now flip the ponytail up and over. Loop it through (topsy turvy style).

If you haven’t seen the pretty little movie we made, you can check it out HERE. If you know how to braid, make ponytails or use temporary hair chalk, teach a girl how to use it! Many of us learned these types of things at a young age and turn it into a career later in life. xo

ALL DOLLED UP

Having little sisters, nieces and daughters around is the absolute greatest thing. Teaching our lovely littles about hair is a duty we don’t take lightly. We clearly remember that moment when we learned to do a 3 strand braid for the first time, and according to this Instagram post last week, it sounds like you all remember, too! For many of us, learning to do a simple ponytail or basic braid was a perfect place to start. But it’s a new day! Kids see so much more now and they’re very inspired by their glamorous mentors. Today’s reigning red carpet queens often wear colorful strands of pastel through the ends of the hair. Our sisters and nieces wanted in on the action, so we decided to go on beauty duty and create some colorful memories for them. First we showed them how to do temporary hair chalking on their own hair with soft pastels from the art store. Then, we created an outdoor picnic spread and provided each of them with a Barbie® Color Chalk Hair Doll (which comes with it’s own hair chalk applicator). These pretty princesses went. to. town! This was a party they’ll never forget (okay, we’ll never forget). We documented the day and made a little video to share with you called “All Dolled Up”. Hopefully it will inspire you to inspire a little girl in your life. Don’t forget to pass it on.
