NO MORE TRAVELING!

post + photos by amy nadine, graphic design by eunice chun

I’m a firm believer in adding this extra step, especially as we get older and lip lines creep up from years of using straws and pursing our lips (mental note: quit straws and anything else that’s harmful ASAP!). There’s nothing attractive about lipstick that has seeped into even the tiniest of lines and started traveling outward from your lips… luckily for us, there are clear lip liners that create an invisible barrier, preventing lipstick from bleeding and feathering. Hallelujah!!

TOOLS:

  • Barrier Pencil — I swear by Make Up For Ever Lip Line Perfector, even on my younger clients that don’t have lip lines so the lipstick doesn’t budge.
  • Lip Color — I used Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy in Cool Guava because (as most of you already know) I’m obsessed with Glossy Lip Balms. I just can’t have them traveling past my clients’ lips.

STEPS:

  1. Trace just outside the perimeter of your upper and lower lips with the barrier pencil. Press hard as you’re only making one trip around.
  2. Fill in the lip area with your favorite lip color. Use a lip brush for more precision if you’re not comfortable applying directly from the tube.
