DIY: MAKEUP BRUSH ROLL

This is by far the most ambitious tutorial we’ve ever done on TBD, but we think you guys might be ready for something a little bit more challenging. This DIY dip-dye brush roll is such a good gift and you can do it in any color you want. I picked white + teal, which is probably not the smartest for makeup brushes but it looks the prettiest! Besides, I’ll probably use it for hair combs, scissors and clips. In order to do this little project you must have/use a sewing machine. I know that sounds a little old school, but it’s time to bust it out and bring it back! You gotta love those magical moments when you’re just minding your own bizz and inspiration jumps out and smacks you right between the eyes. Not long ago I was looking through floor patterns for a home project. My favorite pattern in the world is called the “herringbone pattern”. While I’m speaking to this flooring guy, all I could think about is making this pattern into a manicure. As he started demonstrating the way it gets laid down, I only saw colorfully painted nail strips. Sorry dude. SOOTHING A SUNBURN

Let’s start this post off by saying you should always try and avoid being in the sun without proper protection in the first place. See HERE. But sometimes you just can’t plan for it and you can unexpectedly find your skin baked beyond belief-especially if there’s an overcast. One of the girls in our office turned a nice shade of lobster over 4th of July. I remembered something we used to do as kids when we’d get burned and I must admit– out of all of the home remedies I’ve ever tried, this one has been the most consistently relieving.
