THE NOT-SO-NEW DREAM CREAM

Listen– we all have something in common; we want to do less and spend less while still getting epic results with our hair, correct? If you say no, you’re def on the wrong website. I love finding a new use for an old product. I mean, I would even try shampoo as a styling product just to see how it goes. (No, but I really would.) Recently I’ve been really into using curl creams on ALL hair types, not just my curly girls. Let me tell you why! Curl cream is meant to give definition but not in that drying/sticky/mattifying way like pomade. It’s soft, it’s moisturizing and it takes you on an all-expense-paid-trip to Shiny Town, USA. It’s different than your average styling cream because styling creams usually have hold and curl cream has no hold (at least the ones I use). Lately I’ve been using it on my signature waves lately to add texture without drying. It’s been amazing and the biggest benefit is your hair doesn’t feel super chalky or tangly– on the contrary it feels healthy and you still get the same kind of separation, but the hair just has a shiny finish instead of a matte finish. Sometimes a hairstyle calls for styling with pomade or texture spray but sometimes shiny, soft separation is the way to go.

I love using curl cream when I want the hair to have that “air dried” look even though it wasn’t air dried. Try it and give your hair a break from mattifying every once in a while. Here are my favorites at every price point! A dab will do ya. I usually use about a dime size for Lucy’s whole head and apply it to blow dried, styled hair. Split that amount in half for finer hair or double it for thick coarse hair!

MY TOP FOUR:

Oh! And the biggest benefit other than ditching the dryness is when you get in the shower and rinse your hair it almost feels like you’ve had conditioner in your hair all day. So… do you repurpose hair products? Tell me!!! Always on the hunt for alternative uses! xx
