ACCESSORY REPORT: REVERSE HEADBAND

We’re here in NYC with our favorite #GIRLBOSS, Lauren Conrad, who is releasing her 8th book called CELEBRATE. It’s stunning and it’s packed with photos that inspire. It’s all about being reaaaaaadyyyyy to parrrrrtaaaay in both new and classic ways. This might be my favorite book yet because of the aesthetic of the pages. (Spoiler alert: I’ve seen it and there are some very pretty beauty moments which is exciting!).
Speaking of beauty moments, we get to create lots of looks while we’re on a book tour with her and we kicked off day one with one of my new faves… the reverse headband! I was lucky enough to get my hands on the one you see above from this bad ass brand and it couldn’t have been more subtly perfect. I’ve heard these being referred to as “reversed headbands”, “halos”, “top knot accessory” and “half crowns”, whatever you want to call them I’m now seeing them EVERYWHERE. These would be amazing in wavy hair for a wedding, too! I love when something is barely there from the front, but then a sparkly surprise in the back.
Styling can be very versatile with these. We chose a super sleek look for Lauren because of that très chic jumpsuit she wore. But these looks amazing in wavy hair, too! Straight, sleek hair was out of the norm for Lauren but she loves to try new looks. The thing you should know about using these with straight hair is there’s not going to be a lot of grip so you have to create some sort of anchor. These reverse headbands usually come with two small combs, one at each end. If the hair is sleek and shiny, the comb will likely slide out. I used a couple small bobby pins, two for each side, just behind the ear (if you look very closely you can probably see) as my anchors and to stop them from sliding.
