PRETTY POUT

POST + PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

The obvious way to do a two-toned lip is one color on the top lip and a different color on the bottom. But that wouldn’t really need a tutorial, now would it?! This version is a little more wearable in my opinion and incredible pretty. I love playing with different textures and the matte liner with the glossy stain is very eye catching. It also creates a slight illusion of volume, which is never a bad thing! Don’t dismiss it without trying it, please… If it’s not for you, you can merely wipe it off and do something else. But you might be happily surprised.  Here’s how to pull it off:

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. Line the perimeter with the lip pencil thickly then work your way inwards but leave enough space for the second shade on the top and bottom.
  2. Fill in the bare space with the glossy stain, letting it overlap the pencil area slightly.

You can pair it with a Cat Eye but I wouldn’t necessarily pair it with a Smoky Eye unless it’s a light and soft Smoky Eye as it could become a case of a little too much going on!
