LITTLE PICK ME UP

POST + PHOTOS BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

For those of you who either don’t feel comfortable wearing makeup every day or don’t always have the time, this little trick might be for you! Why? Because the complementary color to purple is yellow, so the lilac corrects any sallow yellowness and instantly brightens and wakes up the eyes. It also pairs perfectly with a bold lip, when you don’t want the eye to compete but still want to perk it up a little. And the best part is, the makeup isn’t noticeable while the impact is. Here’s how:

TOOL:

A light pale lilac eyeliner pencil. I used a limited edition one (sorry!) from Eyeko that I’ve been using forever but these are almost exactly the same:

STEPS:

  1. Rim the inner waterline by gently pulling down on the lower lid and tracing the pencil on the area just inside of the lashes.
  2. Close the eye and line the upper lashline.
  3. Lightly smudge the line with your ring finger so it’s no longer a detectable line.

That’s it! One product, three quick steps, no one will know you did it but all will notice you look much more awake and bright-eyed!
