SUGAR SMACK

photo: w magazine post designed by kristin ess

We’re finally coming out of a long, dry winter and the evidence is all over our dry chapped lips!  This is not good for all the bright-colored lips that are so en vogue this Spring.  But luckily, we can all head over to our kitchens or grocery stores and tackle it head on.  Here are two solutions, depending on how bad the damage is.  If only there were chocolate in them…

Pretty Sweet (Lightweight Formula)

One teaspoon Brown Sugar

One teaspoon Honey

One teaspoon Olive Oil or Petroleum Jelly

Mix the brown sugar and honey together to create a paste and thickly coat your lips.  Leave it on for a few minutes then start gently scrubbing with your finger until all the dead skin has been buffed off.  Immediately dab on olive oil or lip balm to moisturize.

Oh So Coco (Extra Moisture Formula)

One teaspoon Sea Salt (you can save some that is left over from Lauren’s body scrub post!)

One teaspoon Coconut Butter or Coconut Oil (available at your local health food store)

Mix the two together then pat on your lips and gently scrub in circular motion until it’s as smooth as a baby’s…

Now your red lipstick will glide on as it should!  Repeat daily until you feel your old pout is back.
