If you’re planning on getting glam for any remaining holiday parties, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve combed through tons of our hair tutorials and selected 12 hairstyles that will keep you all aglow! Links to each are available below!

  1. FAKING A BLOWOUT: This one is great for pretty much any hair type. If you want to wear your hair down and polished looking, this one’s for you!
  2. BRAIDED CHIGNON: As long as you know how to do a dutch/inside-out french braid, this is easy. This hairstyle always gets lots of attention and you’ll likely be telling everyone how you did it all night.
  3. SIMPLE FRENCH TWIST… WITH A TWIST: This is do-able on long or short hair. This tutorial was done on collar bone length hair so don’t fret! Click on the link to see how to secure shorter lengths in an updo.
  4. SHORT HAIR HALF UP: I loooove this half updo for shorter hair. Mostly because you can add any gorgeous accessory to the back.
  5. THE INFINITY BUN: This quickly became a favorite around here. I just made this up out of no where a while ago and have now used it so many times. It’s a great way to get a more voluminous bun.
  6. THE BRAID-Y BUNCH: An oldie but a very goodie!
  7. SHORT HAIR CHIGNON: This was done on very fine, short hair and it’s honestly easier on finer hair. It’s a bit difficult to do on short thick hair because you have to be able to tuck the ends into each other before pinning. The thicker it is, the harder it can be to conceal the ends and make them blend in.
  8. ROPE BRAID BUN: So romantic, so chic. Perfect for a holiday date… a holi-date!
  9. FRENCH FISHTAIL BRAID: Calling all cool girls. This braid has a casual vibe but also shows that you put a bit of effort into your look.
  10. NATURAL TEXTURE CHIGNON: So much volume to work with when it comes to natural hair! This perfectly full twist/bun combo would look stunning with almost any dress, to be honest.
  11. VOLUMINOUS PONYTAIL: Speaking of volume. Learn the trick to this big ol’ pony right here!
  12. WILD WAVES: Get better, longer lasting waves for your holiday party and get them easily by adding this one little trick to your regimen!

COCKTAIL HOUR (FLAT IRON WAVES)

Today’s post is short and sweet. A couple days ago I posted this photo of this on my instagram page and I realized a lot of people probably don’t know which products to layer when trying to get {FLAT IRON WAVES}. I wanted to share my two favorite combinations with you guys– one for fine/thin hair and the other for thick hair. The details for the product combos I use are linked below!

Each of these combinations create the separation and hold you’ll need for flat iron waves.

  1. Prep the hair with your thickening or volumizing mousse before blowdrying.
  2. Follow our FLAT IRON WAVES tutorial.
  3. Add in pomade or apres surf after you’ve done the flat iron waves.

SHORT HAIR PONYTAIL IDEA

PHOTOS/POST/GRAPHICS DESIGN: KRISTIN ESS

This is hands down one of the easiest hair tutorials we’ve ever done, but also one of the chicest! This is an ideal pony for a girl on the go and/or the lazy girl. It’s perfection for anyone who wants to keep it low maintenance but also look like they put a little time and effort in, especially for those early morning call times or meetings. We paired this with a leather jacket and we’re FEEEEELING it. Let’s just jump right in to how it’s done…

  1. Any texture is great for this pony. If you have straight hair or slight wave, brush it out. If you have curly hair or want to maintain your natural wave for this ponytail, then skip the brushing.
  2. Put the hair behind your ears in a low ponytail and secure using a clear elastic. You’ll leave both sections from the front/sides out. If you have really thick hair and you want to do this, you might consider taking more hair into the ponytail and leaving less out front. If your sections in front are too thick, it could be hard to conceal them later.
  3. Take both side sections, give them a light mist of strong hold hairspray, then pull them back over the top of the ponytail. Twist them into a half knot.
  4. Now take those two pieces and wrap them around the ponytail and under.
  5. Use small/strong bobby pins to secure the remaining pieces under the ponytail. We kind of “stuffed” the longer bits up underneath the base of the ponytail before bobby pinning.
  6. FInish off by smoothing out any flyaway hairs with a light veil of hairspray!

That’s literally it. Are you guys into these simple styles? When you try it on yourself, take a picture and post it on instagram and tag it with #TBDgirlonthego so we can see it and possibly repost!

LOSE YOUR BAGGAGE!

POST + PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

There aren’t many (non-surgical) options for really bad undereye bags… but there are a few things we can do take the puffiness down so we’re a little less self-conscious! Some of the more obvious remedies are to get as much sleep as you can, drink lots of water throughout the day and lower or limit (eek!) your salt intake. Experts say to lower your caffeine intake as well because it can be bloating. But if you have a life and like to enjoy it, try this quick fix using milk! Why milk? Because the lactic acid in milk assists in lowering puffiness and even helps with dark circles.  (more…)
