This is a subtle way to pop your eye color with colored mascara! But the trick is twofold. First you coat the lashes with the colored mascara, then you go back over them with black mascara, except you leave the pop of color at the lash base. If you have blue eyes, match the color with a blue mascara; green eyes, use a green mascara, and if you have brown eyes, you can use any color (purple, teal, blue, green, etc) because they won’t compete with it. You can also pair complementary colors like purple mascara with green eyes, copper with blue eyes, etc! Here’s how to do it with blue eyes:

BROW OPTIONS

Ever wonder the difference between brow products? Some shade and fill in while others define… Because we live to simplify things for you, the lovely Bria Murphy is back to showcase four different brow products (all roughly the same shade) and how the brows (and face!) change with each.

TINTED BROW GEL: This creates a soft, groomed look with a hint of shading. This one is our favorite because it builds brow fibers that create a fuller-looking brow.

MECHANICAL PENCIL: A pencil is great because you can lightly shade (like I did above) or you can make really straight lines for a very strong brow. I also love pencils when using a brow stencil. This one wins for best shades and self-sharpening tip.

BROW SHADOW: Filling in the brow with a shadow is the easiest way to fill in any “holes” or sparse areas. This duo is universally gorgeous on most.

BROW POMADE: Pomades might be my new favorites because they shade like a wet shadow would with a lot of color payoff. This formula is one of our favorite mousses.

Which one(s) do you use? We’d love to know in the comments below!

A SPRING LIP

Post + Photography by Amy Nadine, Graphic Design by Eunice Chun

Coming out of Winter and into Spring is my favorite time of the year! Be gone with the vamp and oxblood lips from the past months! There’s so much inspiration everywhere with daffodils popping up, cherry blossoms blooming and azaleas gazing and all can be transferred into makeup choices. There are many gorgeous collections that have come out for Spring and I hope this post inspires you to take a quick walk down the beauty aisle at your local drug or department store or browse online and brighten your look with a new feminine and fun lip color! And you probably already have a peach cream blush and a rose gold loose eyeshadow to add to it (just saying!). (more…)

YOU ASKED, WE ANSWERED!

So many of you wrote in asking what the lip color was that was used in my High Brow Tutorial last week that I had to share! I’m sure a lot of you already know about Intuitive Lip Balms, but for those of you who haven’t discovered them yet, you’re in for a beautiful surprise! They go on and feel like a clear lip balm but respond intuitively to your pH level and become anywhere from a sheer light pink to a gorgeous bright pink. Yes!

My favorites in three different forms: (more…)
