It’s easy to get stuck in a makeup rut. I talk to women in their 50’s who still do their makeup the same way they did in high school! So I’m encouraging you to always try new things… you never know if one will stick unless you try it! Today I’ve enlisted my girl Angelique Cabral, whom you might recognize as Colleen from the CBS show Life In Pieces, to give it a try. Here’s how you can too:

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. Apply the frosted white shadow all over the lid and crease for a wash of color.
  2. Line the bottom lashline with the black shadow pencil from the inner corner out past the outer corner as demonstrated above.
  3. Go back and really blend the liner with the smudge brush to smoke it out.
  4. Now go over the line with the lighter shade (this step is optional).
  5. If you want to (also optional), you can go back and trace the outer corner of the upper lashline with the lighter stick to draw more attention to the outer corners, helping create the illusion that your eyes are further apart.
  6. Finish with mascara (step not shown as she was already wearing it!).

Here’s how:  (more…)

Each time you get dressed up to go out, you have many  different eye makeup options… it really just depends on your mood and outfit! You can draw a cat eye, you can leave them bare to keep the focus on a bold lip, you can rim the inner waterline, you can do a classic smoky eye, or… you can do a Sparkle Smudge! It’s dramatic and ultra-feminine and very compliment-heavy. So add this option to your repertoire and I trust you’ll bring it out on the perfect occasion! Here’s how: (more…)

BEAUTY BASICS

We’re going back to the basics, ladies! And all you need is a classic kohl pencil. Because you can actually create a full smoky eye by smearing and blending your liner up and out. That’s it! You can do it with any color, as long as it’s a classic kohl pencil and not a longwear waterproof one. I love it because it gives your lid more of a “watercolor” finish that you can’t get with eyeshadow. Here’s how: (more…)
