We’ve seen extreme gold brows on the runway. But I wanted to find a wearable way to do it with elegance and sophistication; that only a confident It Girl can pull off. After trying actual glitter and glitter eyeshadow, this technique won, hands-down.

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. Brush the brow hairs in their natural direction. I didn’t fill them in with a brow pencil or shadow because I didn’t want to darken something I was going to lighten with gold. Start at the base of the brows and trace the gold liquid liner over the brow hairs.
  2. Continue painting the hairs as you move to the arch and finish at the tail. That’s it!

It’s actually quite pretty, don’t you think? And totally wearable! I wore it to a dinner party last week and no one noticed for the first half hour then someone asked me if I had gold glitter in my brows then EVERYONE had to know how I did it so they could do it too. So fun! Let me know if you try it and the reaction you get!

For enquiring minds, Kori is wearing Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Night Crimson above. For our fashionistas out there, she’s also wearing the LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection for Kohl’s Lace Column Dress! I wish I would have taken a full shot of her in the dress for you but you can see it on the link. If you haven’t watched the runway show yet, you MUST on lcrunway.com, and while you’re dying over the clothes, let me know how you like the makeup I did on the models! I’m still on cloud nine!!

GO FOR THE GOLD!

If you’re a little tired of the same old same old… try this little gem! It’s daring yet gorgeous and perfect for your trendsetting self… not to mention really pretty on all skin tones! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

  • Gold Glittery Shadow — I used Stila Magnificent Metals Eye Duo in Comex because it’s the perfect consistency for glitter that I’ve ever come across as there is no fall out. Revisit my Get Sequined Tutorial to see it used all over the upper lid.
  • Contour Brush — If you haven’t picked up Chanel’s Contour Brush yet, get ready for your world to change! It’s this thin little shadow brush that you can use to make a perfect cut crease or like I did above to press the glittery shadow onto the skin.
  • Mascara — Wait until you get your hands on Lancome’s new Grandiose Mascara! The swan neck curls and flares out your lashes while the bristles perfectly separate them. I haven’t stopped using it since!
  • Pair it with any Lip Color — I used Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Aventure on Morgan above because it’s a gorgeous hybrid between a liquid lipstick and a gloss.

STEPS:

  1. Start with any matte nude shadow all over the lid. Don’t use a shimmer/pearlized finish as it will compete with the gold. It has to be matte!
  2. Dip the brush into the setting lotion (or simply dampen it with water) and tap it against the gold glitter to load it lightly. Gently press it along the inner half of the lower lid as demonstrated above. Just press and stamp it incrementally as you move along the lash line. Don’t sweep it!
  3. Skip eyeliner (another element that would take away attention from the gold goodness) but don’t skip on mascara! Two quick coats will do.

INDIGO GIRL

Last week we explored four different ways to wear Spring’s biggest Cobalt blue trend. For those of you that don’t feel up to wearing something so bright, we have a darker and slightly more wearable version for you today! But it still has major wow factor and brings all of the attention to your eyes. I can’t beg you enough to try it. When I describe it to my clients and friends, most are like eh. But when they let me try it on them, they die! I’m not sure why navy blue seems so scary or  not of interest but it’s such an amazing color on the eyes! On brown eyes the most, but on blue, hazel and green too. You just gotta try it for me. Then tag us on Instagram so I can see it! Here’s how:  (more…)

PRETTY POUT

The obvious way to do a two-toned lip is one color on the top lip and a different color on the bottom. But that wouldn’t really need a tutorial, now would it?! This version is a little more wearable in my opinion and incredible pretty. I love playing with different textures and the matte liner with the glossy stain is very eye catching. It also creates a slight illusion of volume, which is never a bad thing! Don’t dismiss it without trying it, please… If it’s not for you, you can merely wipe it off and do something else. But you might be happily surprised.  Here’s how to pull it off:  (more…)
