RAVE MAKEUP INSPIRATION

POST + PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

Raves are getting more and more popular and are the perfect time to go neon! You let go of inhibitions when you go underground, so why not do the same with your makeup? Typically, pastel pink shadow borders on sickly, but paired with a neon pink liner and anchored with a black wing and it’s not only wearable but quite pretty!! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. Apply the pastel pink shadow all over the lid and crease with a shadow brush.
  2. Line the upper lid with the neon pink pencil and wing it out and up. Go a little thick with this one so there’s room for the black liner.
  3. Trace the lashline with the black liquid liner and wing it out and up, following the neon pink line.
  4. Finish with a couple coats of mascara.

Pair it with a fuchsia lip. And remember, this look is created specifically for raves and clubbing… not intended for every day!

DO IT RIGHT! BLUSH EDITION

And a lot of the time if we only blush the cheek, it can come across a little clown-y or stripe-y. So try this technique and create the illusion of a healthy glow as opposed to the “hey everyone, I’m wearing blush” look! Here’s how:  (more…)

THE CAT EYE STYLIZED

POST + PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BU EUNICE CHUN

This eye is inspired by all of the gorgeous creatures from the feline family! Ok hear me out. Tigers, leopards and cheetahs all have black rims around their eyes that really frame them. But it’s more than that. We can all rim our eyes with a black pencil (still one of my favorite looks!). And we can all draw a cat eye. But this combines the two and adds a little V in the inside corner. Why? Oh just to make it more stylized and like an exotic little cat! It’s 100% wearable, I promise. And quite sexy. I exaggerated the inside corner a little on our model above but you can shorten it and still get the same effect. Here’s how: (more…)

NIGHTTIME MOODY MAKEUP

Try this eye the next time you go out and bring out your moodier side ! This is especially perfect for those of you who don’t want to look like you spent time doing a smoky eye, but want the same drama. It’s such a gorgeous middle ground between the hardness of black and the softness of gray. Here’s how: (more…)
