It’s the last weekend of Summer and this is the perfect way to bring in the Fall drama while still showing off your inner bronzed goddess. It was such a pleasure doing Ashley Benson’s makeup for iHeartRadio’s Music Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday night and have had so many requests on what I used to create her look, that I set everything out for you here and will walk you through each feature, with the smoked shadow wing being the big focus.

EYE:

  • I started with the eye because I knew there would be shadow fallout on her cheeks below that I could simply wipe away before applying foundation. I used L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow (on sale!) in Eternal Black because it is incredibly dramatic and has just the right amount of shimmer sparkle.
  • I left the bottom lashline bare with NO eyeliner or eyeshadow.
  • I applied three coats of Bliss Lookin’ Sharp Mascara for extreme definition and volume.

FACE:

CHEEK:

  • I contoured the hollows of her cheeks with the bronzer shade of Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow then applied it along her forehead, nose and jawline. I applied the highlighter shade just abover her cheekbones and above her brows.
  • I applied Stila Convertible Color in Camellia directly on the cheekbones with my fingers.

You know I love a good brow gel. But I hate telling you all that you have to buy yet another product! So do what I’ve done dozens of times and set your brows like this. It really works and some people swear it lasts longer than brow gel. Here’s how:

TOOLS:

TBDBrowFreezeSTEPS1

STEPS:

  1. After you’ve filled in your brows (optional), grab a spoolie brush and spray it with hairspray, holding the bottle 2-6 inches away from the bristles.
  2. Now brush the base hairs upward (I like brushing the inward and upward).
  3. Continue brushing upward as you move toward the tail. Start brushing outward as you move along.
  4. Brush the tail hairs downward along its natural direction.

This is the floral top for those of you who are also in love with it!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP

Today’s tutorial is something I love because it’s like tying a look together with a bow. After you’ve completed your eyes, apply your blush as usual, then apply the same blush on the crease of your lids. Something really gorgeous happens when you do this and everything comes together in harmony. You must try it! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. After you’ve applied foundation and completed your eye look, apply blush as usual.
  2. Now switch to an eyeshadow blending brush and swirl it in the same blush to load it up.
  3. Sweep the blush along the crease in a windshield-wiping motion.

That’s it! For those of you who love to know everything, this is the eye shadow palette ($$) I used, while this one ($) is a steal, and these are the lash strips.

Looking for a little makeup inspiration this Labor Day weekend? This quick tip is soooo simple to do yet it gives such a major impact. It’s easy to get stuck in a makeup rut and this will help you get right on out of it! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

STEP:

  1. After you’ve finished with your night eye look, instead of rimming the inner waterline with a black pencil, use the jade pencil. With your other hand, gently pull down on your under eye then trace the pencil along the waterline.
  2. Blink so it subtly gets on the upper waterline too.
