Hey friends!! It’s Friday, which means we’re talking fashion. Today’s topic is the backless dress. (more…)
Have you ever purchased a dress that’s so beautifully busy that you just had to have it? Maybe it was the serious sparkle that caught your eye, or maybe those epic embellishments reached out and grabbed you. We’re not talking about a dress with a couple flowers here and there. We’re talking about a dress that’s so fabulously detailed that it will probably take center stage while hair & makeup happily take supporting roles.
When you look at the pictures above from the Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2012 show in Paris, we see that simplicity shines in their beauty department. The minimal makeup and the perfectly polished pony allow these dresses to say everything. If there’s one thing we can learn here, it’s that sometimes less really is more. There is nothing wrong with showing some restraint when you’re wearing something so stunning.
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching so in the spirit of romance, we must discuss the gorgeous + girly strapless dress. You pretty much have free-reign on hair when wearing a strapless, so this is a great time to try all of those fun new flirty hair styles that you’ve been PINNING!
Today’s topic is the one-shoulder dress. Whether it’s long or short, the point of a one-shoulder dress is to show a little skin! In my opinion (and it’s just an opinion), the hair should almost always take the back seat to the featured shoulder. If you pull your hair over the bare shoulder, you might as well be wearing a dress that covers both shoulders. Let that shoulder show and throw on some earrings for some sparkle!
Try wearing your hair…
