For years I’ve concentrated blush only on the cheeks. But as I’ve evolved and grown as a makeup artist, through studying my work on the red carpet, magazines and television appearances as well as working on every skin tone and face shape out there, I’ve learned that a real actual flush doesn’t just occur on the cheeks. And a lot of the time if we only blush the cheek, it can come across a little clown-y or stripe-y. FOUNDATION BRUSH MASTER CLASS

Did you know that the brush that you choose to apply foundation with has a major effect on the coverage? You can take the same foundation, apply it with three different brushes and get three completely different results. When I work on my clients’ faces, I consider many things… is the event in the daytime with natural light or nighttime with flash bulbs, is it indoors with icky cafeteria lighting or outdoors with direct sunlight? RADIANT COMPLEXION

If you ask any of my clients, they’ll tell you this is exactly what I swear by for happy, beautiful skin. Of course I share it with them for their benefit, but selfishly it’s also to make my makeup even more gorgeous! LIPSTICK AS BLUSH

Using lipstick as blush is not only a lifesaver, but it’s actually how cream blush came about believe it or not! A classic satin or matte finish lipstick is the perfect substitute for blush. Further, there are hundreds of different shades of lipstick, and not as many with blush, so I find that I’m using gorgeous pinky-nude lipsticks on my clients’ cheeks all the time simply because I don’t own blush in that color!
