This is what I personally do every day. Because full coverage foundation everywhere covers but ages me. I feel pretty when I put it on in the bathroom but when I look at it in the car mirror, it makes my creases look deeper and my pores bigger. On the other hand, if I just wear regular foundation, my chin and my nose still are red, my sun spots are still glaring and any blemishes I might have aren’t covered. So here’s the beautiful compromise that I made. First I apply my favorite tinted moisturizer all over my face and neck to even out my skin tone enough and give me a glowing radiance. Then I pump a tiny bit of my favorite full coverage foundation and apply it only to the areas that I want more coverage. These areas are nowhere near my smile lines or creases so I don’t have to worry about it settling into them and making them bigger. Then I do a quick powder and a quick spritz of my favorite setting spray and go!

We applied foundation (which only came in two forms, liquid and cream) with a sponge! So come with me on this journey as I simplify everything for you and open your world to the next generation of brushes!  (more…)

FOUNDATION BRUSH MASTER CLASS

Did you know that the brush that you choose to apply foundation with has a major effect on the coverage? You can take the same foundation, apply it with three different brushes and get three completely different results. When I work on my clients’ faces, I consider many things… is the event in the daytime with natural light or nighttime with flash bulbs, is it indoors with icky cafeteria lighting or outdoors with direct sunlight? Do they have sun damage or redness that needs extra coverage? The answers to these questions determine the foundation and the foundation brush to use. Here’s a quick guide!  (more…)
