SUMMER MAKEUP INSPIRATION

TUTORIAL & PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

Summer is here but our tans may not be yet (or if you’re like me, you fake it all summer long while loading up the SPF). So here’s a perfect makeup look for summer… bronzed cheeks, gilded lids, a lined eye and a pink lip. Simple and gorgeous. Here’s how:

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. First apply the tinted moisturizer all over your face and neck with the egg sponge.
  2. Next bronze the hollow of your cheeks, your temples and the two sides of your forehead with the cream bronzer using a blush brush, foundation brush or a sponge.
  3. Don’t forget to bronze your jawline and neck as well so it all matches.
  4. Smile and apply blush to the top portion of the apples of your cheeks with a blush brush.
  5. Blend everything together with the egg sponge.
  6. Apply the pink lipstick all over the lip area.
  7. Swipe your finger across the gold glitter shadow and press it all over the lid and crease.
  8. Load it up again and sweep it across the lower lashline.
  9. Line the upper lashline with the kohl pencil.
  10. Rim the inner waterline with the kohl pencil.
  11. Finish with a couple coats of mascara.

THE JAWLINE SLIM

Jawlines are always an interesting subject. Some of us have naturally gorgeous jawlines, some have a little double chin (no matter what we weigh) and some of our jawlines are starting to sag (thanks Gravity!). All of our jawlines can benefit from a little highlighting and contouring. I used to just contour jawlines until I learned that adding a highlight just above it makes the illusion more effective. WARM IT UP!

We’re in the dead of winter and Summer feels like ages from now. But we don’t have to look like we’ve been living in a cave! Personally I prefer being pale and try to stay pale all year long. But every now and then I like to warm it up a little with a gorgeous bronze glow, and whenever I do, I never regret it! There’s just something beautiful and healthy-looking having a hint of color, especially in the winter months. And this method of mixing a luminizer with foundation, highlighting under the eyes then contouring with the bronzer and pairing it with a smoky taupe eye and a tulip pink lip is a fresh way to keep it from looking oompa loompa. HOW TO MAKE YOUR EYE SHADOW LAST LONGER

POST + PHOTOS BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

This is the easiest way to make your eye shadow last all night. Because if you just use cream shadow, it will most likely travel and end up in your crease. And if you just use powder shadow, it will probably dissipate from your own eyelid oils and fade as the night goes on. But something magical happens when you put the two of them together! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

STEPS:

  1. Apply the cream shadow all over lid, crease and lower lash line.
  2. Layer the powder shadow on top of the cream shadow. Make sure to give the brush a quick tap on a counter top to lose any excess powder that could make it go on less evenly.
