WHY NOT…
We continue our Why Not? Series with this fun one that will really wow your friends! It’s such a playful and creative take on winged-out liquid liner and easy to do with this DIY stencil. After trying to make the scalloped edge with a hole puncher {too small} or drawing it freehand {might work for a lot of you but didn’t for me}, I remembered this heart pattern that I used to doodle all over my notebooks in high school and wondered if the top half could make a nice scalloped edge… and somehow, it did just that! You’ll find this one easier if you enlist a friend to do it on each other, so I borrowed my friend Areana and here’s what we did! READ MORE…

DIY TOUCH UPS FOR THE PETITE CLUTCH
This little lifesaver is the brainchild of my lovely {and clever} client Emmy Rossum! Last Saturday I had the pleasure of doing her makeup for her Shameless panel at Comic Con, but I did it at 6:30am here in LA for her to leave at 8 and drive two hours to San Diego and attend the event until 5pm, without me there to help her with touch ups. Of course lipstick and blotting papers fit in her clutch, but not her foundation bottle or cream eye shadow. As I was trying to find a way to make it work, Emmy said “hold on!” and calmly found a contact lens storage case in her drawer. Brilliant! Here’s what followed that we can all easily do whenever we know we’ll need to touch up after a long day but don’t want to bring a big bag: READ MORE…

TWO MINUTE EYE
We get a lot of emails asking for makeup looks that are quick + easy and we hope you’ll love this sweet little four stepper! It’s lovely for summer and very simple to do… here’s how:
- Dampen a shadow brush with water {for more intensity} and dip it into a purple mineral shadow. We used this pigment in Violet. Then sweep it across the lid.
- Trace a cream shadow across your bottom lash line with a liner brush.
- Dip a dry, rounded crease brush into a rose gold mineral shadow {we used this pigment in Pink Bronze} and sweep it along your crease from the inner corner to the outer corner then along your lower lashline just below the purple cream shadow.
- Finish the look with a couple coats of your favorite mascara.
It’s easy and fast because it’s basically a color wash with a “sunset” above it. But be prepared to receive tons of compliments throughout the day because of the happy colors! Pair it with a peach cheek + lip to stay sweet or with a red lip for a fun, hipster look.

BEST RED LIP SHADES FOR YOUR SKIN TONE
We’ve gotten so many requests for picking the right red lipstick that we had to try and help! All you need to do is find which skin tone you are closest to {find your row above}, then decide, in your opinion, which you like better: the orange-based red {warm red} in the left column or the blue/pink-based red {cool red} in the right column. I can’t sit here and tell you which one you should pick or give you a universal law {even though many magazines and beauty counter sales people might constrict you like that}, because honestly everyone can wear both, you just have to decide your mood that day: do you want everything to be in harmony, or do you want to make a statement? Here’s the breakdown: READ MORE…
