SUMMER LIP… LIGHT

TUTORIAL + PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

Yes we love buying new lipsticks every season, but there’s no real reason to in the Summer if you try this quick trick! Just sheer out your dark and rich Winter lipsticks, converting them into lighter version of themselves! I included a side-by-side of Lexie above to show you how it looks on its own then how it looks when you sheer it out. It’s nothing groundbreaking and you might have already figured it out on your own… but it’s a good one! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

  • Your Favorite Autumn/Winter Lipstick: I used By Terry Rouge Terrybly in Narcotic Sienna because it’s such a gorgeous deep velvet shade and the formula is incredibly hydrating and plumping.
  • Your Favorite Lip Gloss: I used Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gloss because it’s really shiny but not goopy at all.

STEPS:

  1. First apply the gloss all over the lip area using the wand.
  2. Then press the lipstick over the same area as you normally would. Notice it comes off much thinner and lighter for Summer!
